Job description
Working in collaboration with the Just For Laughs and Juste Pour Rire monetization, marketing and programming teams, the Social Media Video Editor will be responsible for producing, publishing, and optimizing short form video content across priority social platforms. This role supports ongoing audience growth, engagement, and monetization by maintaining a consistent clip output, tracking performance, and identifying emerging trends. The Social Media Video Editor will also assist with OTT content repurposing when required.
Responsibilities
- Produce vertical video clips optimized for TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts,
- Threads, and other priority platforms
- Pull selects from stand up sets, specials, festival recordings, and archive content
- Apply captions and platform specific formatting while maintaining comedic pacing and quality control
- Schedule and publish content across social channels using established workflows
- Optimize thumbnails, captions, metadata, and tagging to improve reach, retention, and watch time
- Track content performance and adjust editing and publishing strategies based on results
- Identify emerging trends, formats, audio, and comedic editing styles relevant to the brand
- Surface insights, competitive examples, and test opportunities across platforms
- Maintain and update the social media content calendar to support weekly publishing cadence
- Coordinate asset delivery with internal teams and rights holders • Assist with OTT content repurposing and formatting when needed
Qualifications
- Have proven experience editing short form social video content
- Demonstrate expert level familiarity with TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube
- Shorts best practices Work efficiently in a high volume content environment without sacrificing quality or comedic timing
- Have experience with captioning, metadata optimization, and social publishing tools
- Be highly organized and comfortable managing multiple deadlines and priorities
- Thrive in a fast paced environment with shifting content needs
- Work both independently and collaboratively across teams
- Demonstrate attention to detail and strong time management skills
- Have a strong interest in comedy, entertainment, and digital culture
